A Chorus Line opened on Broadway in 1975 to critical acclaim, winning nine Tony Awards. It became the longest running Broadway production, with more than 6,000 performances, until surpassed by Cats.
A touring revival of the musical is in St. Louis, currently at the Peabody Opera House.
Host Steve Potter talked with cast member Kaitlin Niewoehner. She is a native of Columbia, Missouri, a graduate of Stephens College, and has studied ballet and contemporary dance with the Missouri Contemporary Ballet.
Director and choreographer Baayork Lee also joined Potter. Lee played the character of Connie Wong in the original inception of A Chorus Line. Prior to his death, then choreographer and director Michael Bennett passed along stewardship of the show to Lee. To date, Baayork Lee has choreographed and directed dozens of A Chorus Line productions.
