Jefferson City, MO – Some low-income Missourians gathered
outside Governor Holden's office today, protesting a decision to cut their monthly state aid from $80 to just $9.
The cut takes effect Saturday, and is described by recipients as ungodly and inhumane.
Holden wasn't in his office.
A spokeswoman said the governor had to reduce the benefits to preserve children's programs administered by the Department of Social Services.
