Missouri Senate Sends Abortion Bill to House

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – By nearly a three-to-one margin, the
Missouri Senate today sent the House a bill to allow parents to sue anyone who enables a minor daughter to have an abortion without their consent.

For example, a boyfriend or school counselor could be liable for providing money or transportation for a girl to have an abortion.

The bill limits damages to $1,000.

In Illinois, under-age girls from neighboring Missouri can have legal abortions without parental consent.
