Mo. Attorney General asked to investigate exhibit

By Maria Altman, St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis, MO – A Missouri Congressman is asking the state's attorney general to launch an investigation into a traveling exhibition.

"BODIES...The Exhibition" is set to come to the St. Louis Galleria this fall. The art exhibit displays cadavers, some of which may have come from Chinese prisons.

Republican Congressman Todd Akin sent a letter asking Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster to investigate. Akin has questioned whether the bodies used may be those of executed Chinese political prisoners.

The St. Louis Science Center turned down an offer to display "BODIES...The Exhibition" three years ago because of questions over where the bodies came from. Instead, they exhibited "Body Worlds" which documented where they got the cadavers.
