Mo. revenues down for Feb. 2009

By Marshall Griffin, KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – The amount of money Missouri makes from tax revenues continues to drop.

State tax revenues collected last month are more than 10 percent lower than for February of last year.

Sales tax collections are more than six percent lower than last year at this time, but income tax collections are three percent higher.

State Budget Director Linda Luebbering says it's clear the national recession is impacting Missouri's revenues, and she expects collections to continue struggling over the next few months.

Luebbering also says collections were hampered because February had one less working day.
