Murder Charges Expected Today in Toddler Deaths

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – Police are expected to seek murder charges today (Tuesday) against a man accused of killing his two young children on a muddy bank of the Mississippi River in St. Louis.

The victims have been identified as 2-year-old Toni Moore and her younger half-brother, Kanya Anderson. Police say the children had the same father but different mothers.

Police are investigating their deaths as murders, and the father has been hospitalized for psychiatric observation.

The toddlers were found Monday afternoon in mud along the river's edge next to their father's car at North Riverfront Park, not far from the Chain of Rocks Bridge.

The father, covered in mud, was picked up by police near his sister's house, about two miles from the crime scene.
