Nixon Announces Plans for

St. Louis, MO – Some St. Louis area lawmakers want to extend the protection the state offers people with its popular No Call list to
e-mail users. Democratic senator Wayne Goode and Republican Representative Carl Bearden will introduce legislation to create a so-called no spam list that would prevent e-mail users from receiving unsolicited commercial messages. If approved, Missouri would be among the first states in the nation to have this type of system. Senator Goode says both individuals and businesses would be eligible.

State representative Chuck Graham of Columbia will also co-sponsor the bill. Nationwide, officials estimate more than $2-billion in unwanted e-mail are transmitted each day.
