Officer pleads not guilty in wreck that killed four

By AP/KWMU

Clayton, MO – A suburban St. Louis police officer has pleaded not guilty to charges for the alleged drunk-driving wreck that killed four students from India.

Christine Miller was arraigned Wednesday. She was off duty from her job as a Sunset Hills police officer when the accident happened in March.

Miller is charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of second-degree assault/driving while intoxicated.

Police say Miller was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes when her car collided nearly head-on with another car. Four of the five people in the other car died.

Police say that three hours after the crash, Miller's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

Miller is suspended without pay from her job.
