Progressive candidates make Missouri ballot

By KBIA

Columbia, MO. – The Missouri Progressive Party will have six candidates on this November's ballot.

The Secretary of State has approved the party's submission of close to 15,000 signatures, validating 81-percent of them.

The Missouri Progressive Party is an affiliate of the national Green Party, and has been active in the state for ten years.

Co-chair of the party, Dee Berry, says the number of candidates this year is a milestone, and she believes will give many Missourians an alternative choice at the polls

"I think the majority of the people really want out of Iraq, they want universal health care, they want better schools and universal college for our children." Berry said. "We want to spend the money we are now spending on militaristic ventures for peaceful ventures at home."

Progressive party candidates will run for U.S. senator, state auditor, and four congressional seats in Missouri.
