PSC says Laclede Gas violated records agreement

Feb 8, 2011

The Missouri Public Service Commission will take Laclede Gas Co. to court in a dispute over records of gas
purchases made by one of the utility's affiliates.

The commission's staff has been trying for three years to obtain information on gas transactions made by Laclede Energy Resources, a gas marketing company not regulated by the state.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday that the commission determined on Friday the state's largest gas utility violated a decade-old agreement by not turning over the records.

St. Louis-based Laclede has said prices its 630,000 customers pay are fair, and it has already turned over the necessary records.

And it argues that it should not have to turn over records from its affiliate.
