Renee Fleming, scores from "Psycho" and "City Lights" highlights of SLSO 2010-2011 season

By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis – International opera star Renee' Fleming will make her debut with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra next year.

That's one of several highlights of the 2010-2011 season for the Orchestra, which kicks off in the fall.

The SLSO will also put on a Russian festival featuring the works of Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, and symphonies by Gustav Mahler, on the 100th anniversary of his death.

Liza Minelli and Bernadette Peters will also take the stage at Powell Hall, and the Orchestra will also perform the scores to Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights" and Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho." Similar concerts in the past have featured the Orchestra playing the score as the movie is projected on a screen
