By AP/KWMU

Moberly, MO – The Pentagon says a Marine from Moberly, Mo. died this past weekend after falling off a roof in Iraq.

Military officials say Second Lt. Mark Gelina, 33, was directing the placement of a gun when he fell. The Defense Department described the incident as 'non-hostile' and is investigating. It happened in the Al Anbar province of Iraq.

Gelina was graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's of science in industrial engineering in 2005. He was assigned to the Second Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

The Pentagon also says a Marine from New Hampshire has been killed in Iraq. Ryan McCaughn was killed less than two months into his deployment. Family members were still waiting to hear how he died.

He was born in North Carolina and also lived in Missouri before his family moved to New Hampshire a decade ago.
