St. Louis – Authorities have arrested a man suspected of shooting and wounding a St. Louis policeman.
Officer Joe Haman was hit with bullets eight times during a traffic stop on the north side early Thursday.
He's expected to make a full recovery. Police Chief Dan Isom credits a bulletproof vest with saving Haman's life.
"The officer is going to recover, no life-threatening injuries," Isom said. "We have the entire incident captured on video and audio."
Just before 7 p.m. Thursday, police arrested 24-year-old Arvon Brown. Spokeswoman Erica Van Ross says police had to use a Taser to subdue Brown because he had resisted arrest.
Brown is being held without bond. Three other suspects are also in custody.
Officer Haman has been on the St. Louis Police force since October 2008 and served in Iraq with the Marines.
