St. Louis – Police in the Metro East village of Alorton, Ill. say they have arrested a man wanted in connection with the shooting death of the mayor of nearby Washington Park.
Aaron Jackson, 34, was charged with first degree murder late last month in the shooting death of John Thornton. Thornton was killed in his car early in the morning of April first.
Jackson was arrested around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. He will be transferred to the custody of the Illinois State Police.
