University of Missouri President Will Not Resign

By AP/KWMU

Kansas City, MO – University of Missouri president Elson Floyd says he did nothing wrong when it comes to troubled ex-basketball player Ricky Clemons. Floyd says he will not resign as head of the four-campus M-U system. He plans to discuss his job performance in private with the curators in Kansas City. After meeting with the board publicly, he told reporters this
afternoon his involvement with Clemons continues to be a nightmare. Floyd said it started with his consent to basketball coach Quin Snyder's request earlier this year that he befriend Clemons. Board of Curators president Connie Silverstein said earlier today she doesn't think the controversy has damaged curators' opinions of Floyd.
