In recent years, we’ve evolved from St. Louis’ public radio station to a more dynamic, modern media organization with regional news coverage, a growing website audience, award-winning podcasts, music channels, and conversation-driven social media. As we continue to innovate to reach more people across our region, we needed a cohesive story and visual brand that would grow with us.

St. Louis Public Radio is pleased to announce the promotions of Melody Freeman to Director of Business Administration, and of Jade Harrell to Director of On-Demand & Content Partnerships, who will both serve on the station’s senior leadership team.

The University of Missouri Office of General Counsel, in coordination with UMSL’s Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Tanisha Stevens, retained the Tueth Keeney law firm to conduct interviews of employees across all departments and seniority levels at the station. The firm completed those interviews and submitted its report to campus administration on November 19. Thirty-one individuals volunteered to participate. While an important component of the university’s review process, the Tueth Keeney report is just one of many actions that have been initiated by the university and station to address employee concerns.

In the coming days of December through early January, St. Louis Public Radio will offer listeners special holiday programming and music. There are several ways to listen – on your radio, smartphone, computer or smart speaker.

Public Media For All, a coalition of public media workers from across the country, have designated November 10 as a day of action and education, with activities including social media messaging, on-air mentions and educational opportunities, as well as promoting a three-year, public commitment to engage in a series of action items that support diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within stations and other public media organizations.
