via Flickr/Jeremy Brooks

Someone is holding a $2.7 million winning Missouri Lotto ticket, but lottery officials don't yet know who the lucky person is.

The Lotto ticket purchased at a QuikTrip in the St. Louis County town of Florissant matched all six numbers in the drawing from Saturday. The winning numbers are 14, 20, 21, 24, 25 and 35.

There were other winners over the weekend, too. Lottery officials say someone in Hannibal won $250,000 playing Mega Millions on Friday, and a $232,000 Show Me Cash ticket was sold Saturday in St. Louis.

Mo. Lottery: there's no plan to generate $35M lawmakers hoped for

Officials at the Missouri Lottery have no strategy to generate an additional $35 million that legislative budget writers and Gov. Jay Nixon's administration had hoped would help avoid cuts to government services.

A Lottery spokesman told The Associated Press on Tuesday that its goal is to generate about $289 million for education during the fiscal year that began July 1. That would be an increase of little more than 3 percent from last year.

Have you won three lottery prizes this year? Well, this man has.

For the third time this year, an eastern Missouri man has won a substantial prize in the Missouri Lottery.

Lottery officials say Ronald Cordsiemon Sr. of Elsberry's latest prize is a $20,000 winner for the "Silver Anniversary" scratchers game, purchased at a Casey's General Store in Elsberry. He also won a $100,000 Lottery prize in January and $610 playing Lotto.

Luck apparently runs in the family. Cordsiemon's son won a $50,000 Lottery prize Christmas Day last year.

The Missouri House has given first-round approval to a plan that would cut the amount of money available for state lottery prizes to increase funding for state-run veterans homes.

The legislation would reduce lottery prize funds by about 3.5 percent and put the money toward early childhood education programs that currently get funds from the Missouri Gaming Commission. Gaming Commission money now used for early childhood education would instead go to veterans' homes.
