The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that three men have been charged today in the Christmas Eve drug-deal shooting that killed a local football player from St. Charles.

The shooting took place near a St. Charles area Bass Pro Shop store

The victim was 26-year-old Brandon Joyce, who, as the Post-Dispatch reports, was on the offseason roster for the St. Louis Rams just prior to this season.

Those charged in Joyce's death are described as follows by the newspaper:

Charged in the killing are twin brothers Cory Jermaine Brooks of the 400 block of Shirley Ridge Drive and Tory Tremaine Brooks, 21, of the 900 block of North Sixth Street in St. Charles and Deveon Cartez Shockley, 21, of the 4000 block of Beacon Avenue in St. Louis. Each is charged with second-degree murder, attempted robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. They were booked Tuesday at the St. Charles County Jail in lieu of a $1 million cash bail each. The fourth suspect is not identified in court documents.
