Hot, hot, hot! High temperatures to continue in St. Louis area, cooling centers opening

The St. Louis area will be subject to even more toasty temperatures over the next week or so.

Triple-digit highs are expected for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

An excessive heat watch has been issued by the city of St. Louis starting on Saturday (July 16) and ending on Thursday (July 21).

In St. Louis County, five cooling shelters, and two health centers, will open starting Saturday and then close on Thursday.

Here's a list of the cooling centers opening in St. Louis County as provided by the St. Louis County Department of Health:

Affton Community Center
9801 Mackenzie Road, 63123
Noon – 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday

North County Recreation Complex (Veteran’s Memorial Park)

8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday
Noon – 6 p.m. Sunday
8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday

St. Vincent’s Community Center
7335 St. Charles Rock Road, 63133
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday
Noon – 6 p.m. Sunday
9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday
