Possible serial bank robber strikes in Midtown

(photo courtesy of the Federal Bureau of Investigation)
Security video from the St. Louis Community Credit Union in Midtown shows the man suspected of robbing the credit union on Monday. He is also a suspect in a bank robbery last month.

The FBI is looking for a man who robbed the Forest Park Community Credit Union near Saint Louis University today - a robber investigators believe may be responsible for two other robberies last month.

The Bureau says that just before 1 p.m., the robber entered the credit union at 3651 Forest Park Ave., and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The robber did not show or imply that he had a weapon, and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber is a black man, 35-40 years old with a medium complexion and a medium build.  He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap with the letter "P" in the front, a long-sleeved grey hoodie, a dark blue puffy vest, and light-colored pants. Investigators think it is the same man who unsuccessfully tried to rob the same credit union on February 8th, and then robbed the US Bank on Lindell the same day.

Anyone with information about this or other bank robberies in the area should call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (7677)
