St. Louis Symphony Extra - Tchaikovsky 5
We conclude our live broadcasts of the St. Louis Symphony for the 2013-2014 season this weekend, and you can be right there with us from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.
On select Saturday evenings, St. Louis Public Radio broadcasts the Symphony's performance over the air, bringing you a live classical music experience wherever you are.
Here's what's planned for you this weekend:
DALBAVIE La Source d’un regard
BRITTEN Les Illuminations (see full translation of this work below)
TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 5
Which will feature the following artists:
David Robertson, conductor
Nicholas Phan, tenor (@grecchinois on Twitter)
Happy listening at 90.7 FM on air or online here! You can also follow along on Twitter using the hashtag #slsoLIVE to chat about the broadcast as it's happening and talk with other Symphony broadcast listeners before and after the performance.
You can follow along with the broadcast yourself with this version of the same program symphony-goers have in the seats at Powell Hall. (below)
Check out this great sneak peek from NPR Music of Nicholas Phan performing other Britten works in a less traditional setting:
During intermission, we interview key symphony performers and special guests.
