Audio Agitation: Dark Pop for the (possible) first snowfall

St. Louis-based Foxing released its album "Dealer" a couple weeks ago to solid critical reception. The band’s music is filled with swells and melody. The lyrics focus on expansive topics like war and death filtered through a highly personal lens. With it getting dark earlier and the first snowfall imminent, this seems like a time to explore the slightly morbid sensibility that underpins the sweeps and builds of music from similar St. Louis "indie rock" bands.

For this Audio Agitation we suggest you grab a mug of cider or cocoa and sit near a window to maximize that thin barrier between the cold outdoors and the warm living room.

CaveofswordS:

This band traffics in rock music with a mystical pulse. Equally good for after-hours dance sessions or serious chill sessions. This year they released both the album "Sigls" and the remix album "GliSS." Here we feature two of their older songs.

Dots Not Feathers:

This band has been knocking around the St. Louis music scene for a while, pairing catchy pop tunes and maudlin sentiment.  The group hasn’t released an album since 2014’s "Dolphin World" but some of the songs are still some of the most danceable  music from St. Louis with titles about the afterlife.
