St. Louis, MO – Contributions to Cool Down St. Louis have gone down significantly since last year.
Cool Down St. Louis helps residents avoid heat-related illnesses by giving away air conditioners and educating the public on how to stay cool.
Spokesperson Gentry Trotter says though contributions are down, it won't affect how the program runs.
"One hundred percent of the public money it goes servicing the needy, so we don't have to worry about budget shortfall," said Trotter. "But they've been significantly down."
Cool Down St. Louis has not yet released how much money was donated to the cause this year.
