St. Louis FBI gets new special agent in charge

St. Louis – A 22-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is now in charge of the FBI's office in St. Louis.

Dennis L. Baker replaces Roland Corvington, who took over when John Gillies left to head the agency's Miami office in October 2009. Corvington retired in August to direct public safety efforts at Saint Louis University.

Baker joined the FBI in 1988 after a career as a police officer in Tulsa, Okla. A promotion in 2002 took Baker to Washington, D.C. where he specialized in international terrorism investigations, including supervising an international anti-terrorism squad that included members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force.

An Oklahoma native, Baker holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Tulsa. He also holds a law degree from the same school.
