This article first appeared in the St. Louis Beacon, Oct. 28, 2011 - On Thursday night, Kay Flannagan went to her first World Series game. And last night, during the excitement of what many are calling the greatest World Series game ever, Flannagan shared her experience with her grandson, Adrian Flannagan, 11, and her daughter, Kelly, who live in Templeton, Calif.

The following is a snapshot of their texted conversation leading up Game 6 of the World Series and during last night's last few moments. Note that the exchange started on Tuesday and the tomorrow night refers to the game that was delayed because of rain.

Today, with a scratchy voice, Flannagan traded stories of the night across tables with another couple at the St. Louis Bread Company in Lake Saint Louis. She saved her rally towels from last night's game and plans to wash them, roll them up and send them to Adrian in California.

It was a game for the ages, she said to the other table.
