St. Louis, MO – A new honor for St. Louis -- the U.S. Conference of Mayors says the city has the best tasting city water in America.
More than 90 American cities submitted tap water to be judged on taste, clarity and aroma. The conference reduced the field to 15. Celebrity judges performed a blind taste test. And then hundreds of mayors chose from among five finalists.
Mayor Francis Slay says the city does not take its water quality for granted,
"I think it is really a credit to the type of processes that we put it through and the way that we really pay attention to making sure that it really is clear, safe, has a good aroma to it, it doesn't have a bad aroma, and it tastes good, it has a great flavor."
St. Louis came out on top Monday, besting Colorado Springs, Colorado; Long Beach and Anaheim in California, and Toledo, Ohio.
