Winter Storm Pounds Missouri

By AP

St. Louis, MO – After dropping a layer of snow blamed for at least six traffic deaths Monday in southwestern and central Missouri, the storm
reached the northeastern corner of the state by late yesterday. The flakes began hitting the
ground in St. Louis at mid-morning today. Up to a half-foot was predicted for St. Louis, where the snow arrived a full day later
than expected. Lieutenant Tim Hull of the highway patrol says unless people
really have to go somewhere, it would be a good idea to stay off the roads.
