On Monday, “St. Louis on the Air” host Don Marsh led a discussion about what was and was not accomplished during the Missouri legislative session.

Marsh talked to St. Louis Public Radio reporters and Terry Jones, Founders’ Professor of Political Science and Public Policy Administration at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The St. Louis Public Radio reporters included Jo Mannies, Marshall Griffin and Jason Rosenbaum.

Law enforcement reforms introduced as a result of the Ferguson unrest failed to pass. Such reforms included mandated police diversity training, limits on police use of deadly force and mandated body cameras.

“The Ferguson agenda became narrowly defined as a police and law enforcement agenda,” Jones said. “If you ask people that are on the ground in Ferguson what they need, they also need things like early childhood education and housing assistance, and that was not part of anybody’s Ferguson agenda unfortunately.”

Information about other reform bills can be found here and here.

St. Louis on the Air discusses issues and concerns facing the St. Louis area. The show is produced by Mary Edwards and Alex Heuer and hosted by veteran journalist Don Marsh. Follow us on Twitter: @STLonAir.
